Jobs to do in the garden in October
The weather is still good but the evenings are feeling colder. Make sure you still keep your plants watered.
  • It is stills a good time to plant your bulbs.
  • Now is the time to plant your wallflowers and pansies.
  • Take any diseased leaves off roses to help them flower.
  • Put down grass seed for quick germination.
  • Divide herbaceous plants to keep things tidy.
  • It is a good time to plant and divide rhubarb and pick the last of the apples and pears fruits
  • Protect your cauliflowers and cabbages from butterflies by putting a net over the top.
  • Any tomatoes that are green can be picked and put inside to ripen if there is going to be a frost.
  • Strawberry runners can be cut and planted.
Keep on gardening.
